Center for Creativity, Innovation & Discovery

The Center for Creativity, Innovation and Discovery is a charter school that focuses on K-8 student-centered education. Their unique teaching model emphasizes the core values of creativity, innovation, and discovery to encourage interest and curiosity in STEM subjects. The school features a MakerSpace lab, which provides hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, electronics, engineering, computer programming, robotics, construction, and more. Large interlocking classrooms allow for flexible group teaching, while smaller gathering spaces provide more intimate learning experiences. Additionally, outdoor “learning classrooms” offer students the opportunity to learn in the natural environment. Each classroom has its own exterior door, providing direct access to these outdoor spaces. Furthermore, the school’s central gathering space is enhanced by an indoor tree, bringing the natural environment inside. The exterior facades are made of stucco, masonry, and siding and feature large overhangs and sloping roofs to reflect the school’s non-traditional teaching style.
