Ute Indian Tribe Justice Center

The Ute Indian Tribe Justice Center is a tribal facility that includes juvenile detention, adult detention, law enforcement, and courts. The facility will function under direct supervision, allowing the detention staff to build personal relationships with the inmates, which aids in operating a safely run facility. The facility is designed with two detention pods flanking a central administration building. The pods are octagonal, facilitating officer observation in the day rooms. The booking area, central control, kitchen and laundry, and program rooms for inmate education are found on the administration building's main level. The upper level of the administration building includes the courtroom, the chief judge and the court's support staff, prosecution and support staff, public defender and support staff, and adult parole and probation. It also includes law enforcement offices, an emergency operations center, and a 911 call center.
