Fort Duchesne, UT

The Ute Indian Tribe Justice Center is a tribal facility that includes juvenile detention, adult detention, law enforcement and courts. The facility functions under direct supervision allowing the detention staff to build personal relationships with the inmates aiding in the operation of a safely run facility. Two octagonal shaped detention pods facilitate officer observation in the day rooms. The main level of the administration building includes central control, kitchen/ laundry and program rooms for inmate education. The upper level includes courts, offices, support staff, and adult parole/probation. It also includes law enforcement offices, emergency operations center and a 911 call center.

The building construction is honed and split-face concrete block in earth tone colors reflective of the surrounding Uintah Basin. The landscaping includes native plants found on tribal lands in the State of Utah.
